Daystar Multi-Tracer

The Daystar Multi-Tracer is an integrated measurement system for testing multiple photovoltaic modules under natural or simulated sunlight. The Multi-Tracer has separate and isolated inputs for up to 16 PV modules per Load unit. The Multi-Tracer will peak power track any attached PV module to within 0.2% of the maximum power.The operating voltage of each module is measured using a 4-wire connection.

Each MT5 Multi-Tracer system consists of one Control unit and up to four Load units.
The Load units may be 2400 Watts or 3200 Watts, mix or match. Modules are individually controlled and operated at their peak power during daylight hours. IV curves may be taken at selected intervals. The total power of the connected modules determines the size of the Multi-Tracer system required. Contact Daystar or Dyesuntech to discuss your requirements and/or receive a quote. Delivery will be about 8 weeks after receipt of an order. Because Daystar Multi-Tracers are built to customer-specified configurations, we require 40% of the price with the order.

Daystar Multi-Tracers are used by National Laboratories and major PV companies in several countries. Download a brochure here. More reasons to buy the Daystar Multi-Tracers here.

The Daystar MT5 Multi-Tracer is an integrated measurement system for testing multiple photovoltaic modules under natural or simulated sunlight. The Multi-Tracer has separate and isolated inputs for up to 16 PV modules per Load unit. The Multi-Tracer will peak power track any attached PV module to within 0.2% of the maximum power. The operating voltage of each module is measured using a 4-wire connection.

At user-defined intervals, the Multi-Tracer will sweep an I-V curve for each module. Because of wiring and other load resistance, the Multi-Tracer cannot adjust the load to zero volts and measure a true short circuit current. Resistance of connecting wires from the PV mudules to the Multi-Tracer is the main source of resistance so both wire size and length are factors to consider when locating the Multi-Tracer in the test area. The Multi-Tracer is connected using Ethernet and common browser software may be used to setup the unit and access data files. Contact Dyesuntech for options and pricing.

Daystar MT5 Multi-Tracers may be integrated into any Ethernet network. Firefox browser software is used to setup the Multi-Tracer and access data. Data files are collected using FTP software. All data collection routines, timing, averaging, and storing data, are on-board the unit which will retain several weeks of collected data depending on the averaging and number of IV curves specified by the user. However, we recommend data be collected periodically (daily) and stored/backed up for security. A example of the Multi-Tracer browser interface is available here

A separate file is created for each days data. Averaged values for all channel and auxiliary input data are stored in this file. Users may view the data from any computer having access privileges to the network.
